the quilt!

I finally found it! I've been searching thrift stores and yard sales and the like for years. Since I first saw this photo and decided that I had to have one something like it! That photo is what inspired me to dust off Nana's old Singer in the first place!

Want to see?

Okay, here's a peek.

Oh, here's the long shot, I can't wait any longer!

Isn't it great! I picked it up on our little trip to Glenwood. At first I was nervous to ask a price because quilts at sales like these are usually way out of my price range, but when she said thirty dollars, I was thrilled. (Ask Jill, I was grinning like an idiot.) Especially when I found this original tag later...

The seller said it was made by a Hundred year-old woman who was part of the family that founded the town (village?) of Colden, NY where the sale was. I love pieces with a story.

One more shot? Okay.

It's been washed and hung and is already on the bed with some other new thrifted linens. Mmm, I loved a freshly changed bed, especially a pretty one!

That has to be the bargain of the century! What a find. I love all those vintage fabrics, it's so beautiful, and I love the history of it too! Well done, good things come to those who wait!
