Boys.

Why do little girls get all the crafts?

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all about flowers and ruffles, and fairies, and whatnot, and all the traditional crafty things. But most things are strictly for girls. Boys patterns tend to be too soft. Or only okay for babies. Nothing a real rough and tumble, dig-a-hole-and-sit-in-it kind of boy would be caught dead with.

So I've been searching around for some things to make for my boys that, well, don't suck.

The best thing I've found: This so great little rocket. This is number one priority. I was actually laying awake a few nights ago trying to figure out how I'm going to change it into something a tiny bit different that I think would suit Harry better. She also has a good looking super-cape that could easily be appliqued into awesome boy-ness.

And there's a whole flickr group here. I love the plush wrench and hammer set.

And these adorable big-boy undies.

And these little peg boys are way cuter than any Diego plastic-y figure you'll find.

Don't forget, tomorrow is I love to be Outside day!

Post about what you love about outside, (maybe the promise of cooler days to come.....?) and leave a comment so I can link to you.

You're right...it's much harder to find crafts for boys (but you found some fabulous ones). I love those little peg boy dolls!

The link to that Flickr group is really fun - thanks for that. As a Mom of two boys, I hear you on the crafting for boys drought.

Thanks for those ideas--I have 3 girls so the girly craft work for us, but my sister has 2 boys and is going to love to hear that there are some good crafts for boys out there.

I HAVE to teach the boys how to floorcloth. Nothing mamby-pamby about that hobby! And it gives me a reason to make floorcloths...

...you know, now I really want to dig a hole and sit in it. I don't know why.

My nephew has been bugging my mom to sew him something, but she can't find anything to make other than little boy boxers. I'd like to do an all handmade Christmas, and I'm completely stuck on what to do for the boys. So... I'm with you, I guess.

Thanks for this post, I'm always on the look-out for crafty ideas for boys, both things for me to make & projects for my son to do. I got a shock when I clicked on the boys undies link.....& discovered they were mine LOL! The flickr group is great inspiration.
