I think this is the coolest shirt ever. I love the print, I love the trim, I love the whole cut of the thing.

The only problem is: It's freaking HUGE. I bought it when I was preggers and quite a bit bigger all around and now I have no use for it. What's a girl to do?

Make it into something better of course!

Voila! One naptime later, I have a brand new bag!

The inside pocket: Using some of that nice elastic.

And bra-like straps turned into purse straps.

Yay! I can have my shirt and keep it, too. Well, kind of. I can do more than look at it hanging in my closet.

Way cute! I never had any maternity clothing that I thought was cute enough to keep the second time around. I still have some stuff, but it's all super comfy laze around the house and don't go outside with it on stuff. =) Love the bag - such a great idea. Did you have a pattern?

No pattern, I just faked it. I'm a big faker when it comes to crafting.

What a great conversion.
Don't you hate how so many of the shirts you see these days in the regular stores remind you of maternity clothes?

I wish I had your sewing skills & cleverness - the bag is so cute & I agree that fabric is terrific. I see so many summer shirts that have great prints but I'm just not comfortable wearing pattern for some reason...but I'm always comfortable with a cute purse!
